Autism Accreditation aims to set and encourage high standards of provision for autistic adults and children, based on a personalised model of support. While methods should be evidence-based and reflect what has been shown to have had positive outcomes for autistic people, the research has also shown that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach and therefore, it is essential that approaches are tailored for the individual.

S.M.A.R.T.
At St. John’s we use the acronym S.M.A.R.T. Below you will find a short explanation of each letter and a link to download a poster.
- Safe – Keep personal details safe. e.g. your name, address, phone number or date of birth
- MeetingÌý– Be very careful meeting people you have only met online (talk to staff first).
- AcceptingÌý– Messages such as emails and SMS may contain viruses or abusive material
- ReliableÌý– Not everything you read online might be true. It is easy to lie on the internet
- TellÌý– If in any doubt talk to someone you trust. Block and Report
